Work in Japan
Turn your Japanese learning into a real-world adventure.
Are you interested in not just being a tourist, but living in Japan, experiencing it from the inside?
Through our Work in Japan Program, Japanese Melbourne connects you with trusted partners in Japan to provide structured, legitimate work placements from hotel internships to English teaching and specialised industry roles.
At the end of the internship, there’s also an opportunity to switch to a work visa and stay in Japan permanently. The process is straightforward: applying for a work visa with the same employer costs approximately JPY 50,000 ($500), while using a new placement costs JPY 100,000 ($1,000).
Students of Japanese Australia also receive exclusive perks when applying for the program, including 5% off online lessons for the first month.
You don’t need to be fluent in Japanese to apply — but learning the basics will make your experience far more rewarding and help you settle into life and work in Japan with confidence.
