What is TESOL?

TESOL stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and is the academic discipline that deals with the teaching and learning of the English language.

Our 5 day Japan TESOL programme is a practical and intensive course to equip you for teaching English to young learners in Japan. Graduates have the opportunity to select a workplace from locations all over Japan. We help with the pre-departure process and your school provides support on arrival in Japan, as well as during your teaching experience.

The cost is $550 plus visa administration fees.

Our past trainees have come from all walks of life. There is no need to have prior teaching experience, but we would like to check that this is the right course for you.

When

In 2014, training runs for 5 days from 9am – 3pm.

July 14th- 18th
August 11th – 15th
September 1st –  5th
October 20th- 24th
December 8th -12th

What

The course provides workshops and teaching practice so that you can learn to:

• Manage a class of young learners;
• Set up a variety of fun activities for language development;
• Learn what you need to know about how English works;
• Learn techniques for improving pronunciation;
• Take with you the ideas and an electronic guidebook for your
  adventure in Japan.

How to apply

1. Contact Japanese Melbourne and we’ll provide the necessary application forms.
2. Complete and return the forms to us. 
3. Applicants must apply at least 2 weeks prior to the opening date of the desired course.
4. Within a week, Melbourne Training Associates (MTA) will provide an invoice upon completion of procedures.
5. Pay full fee to MTA.
6. Start training.
7. Finish training.
8. Apply for a position in Japan.
9. Receive entry permit, receipt, and other documents.
   
10. Level up to English teacher in Japan!
